So much going on in our lives lately...Celebrated our 59th anniversary the 11th of August.. Ken is having problems again with his bleeding. He had a transfusion on July 28th and then another on August 10th. Last week and this week he is undergoing s series of test once again, He had these tests in 08 and couldn't find the source. Last weeks test was a failure and I expect this week will be the same. I and the girls are forbidding him to lift anything, we are thinking that might be a hardship for him. This is something he has to live with and will have to be careful of his health. Also the garden stuff is coming in and Kim is very busy with that...Yesterday the 22 of August was Laura's birthday, our oldest was 58...OH MY...Have to be up early in the morning, Ken has to be at the hospital by 7 am.. I need to go to drive him home after..

Pontoon

Our pontoon arrived back home Wednesday after two weeks at the shop. Cannot complain it hasn't been worked on for 23 years. We were happy to have it back and promptly arranged to have some rafting in that evening. Our little Chihuahua Penny was watching Papa bring the raft up to the dock and was so excited to see it coming...She rushed right out and hopped aboard ready for her ride. All the dogs love the rides on the lake. We did take some rides on the waverunner, but the lake was rough, and we like it to be calmer for that...
Tomorrow we are going to have deep fried chicken, and Kim will be over for the afternoon.. So looking forward to the day with her.... Ken is not feeling too perky, I think he will be needing another blood transfusion soon. He keeps losing blood and feels so weak and depleted. Wish it would stop, I guess its something he will have to deal with from now on.......:(

Waverunner

Since the pontoon is still at the shop and won't be ready until next week sometime. It was decided to get the waverunner out and up and running.. Took a little time since it has been stored for so long, it is in the water as of last night. Was going to take a little ride on it but had some company, Jeanette was over and brought some pictures of family, so we visited instead....This evening we had a storm so was grounded, earlier the wind was pretty strong and lake was rough, hopefully it will be calmer tomorrow....The craft looks very good, looks like a new one, but is a 2002.

July 4 Boat Parade

First time for us to join in the annual boat parade. So we decorated the raft for the July 4 Birthday Celebration of our Nation. Laura and Tom, Burk and Maria, Ken and I and the dogs were all happy to meet on the sand bar. About 15 or 16 rafts were all joined in for the parade. We made it all around the lake and were just about to the starting area, when.....the motor stopped....Good thing our neighbors were right behind us and towed us back to the dock..Ken got some new spark plugs and new gas line, installed them and yippie... the motor started.... decided to try it out again, made it to the center of the lake.....stalled out and was towed again. Decided to call for HELP....So the raft is still at the repair shop>>>bummer...Its only 23 years old and never was worked on....go figure....Love the ups and downs of Life......

pontoon readyness

It is Wednesday, almost 4th of July. Wonder where the year has gone? Ken is planning to put the pontoon in the water tomorrow. We were out today at the barn getting it ready, Ken charged the battery and worked on the furniture fixing the supports. And I sucked up the junk on the floor . After its in the water and at the dock, I can wipe the rails and finish cleaning. Looks like we might have a full weekend over the 4th, happy to have the raft in, can have some rides enjoying the lake. Hard to realize that old raft is 23 years old, still in pretty good shape, has been stored indoors every winter but one. Saturday is Braelon's birthday and maybe he will be over to go swimming.

Birthday Blog

Woke up at 7:30 this morning to find that my new bedspread and curtains had arrived. Kim came over and gave me my perm. Love the bedspread, its white with pink roses and green and a little of lavender. We went out to Finley's for our dinner, we always go there for our Birthday Dinners as the Birthday person gets a free dinner or at least$10.99 off their order. So today was very nice for all, Kim was with Ken and I.
Planning to leave for Bonifay next Thursday the 1st of April, we will be gone for a week. Laura will be watching our puppies, while we are gone and Cheryl will be watching our bird. Hoping the trip down will be fruitful for us and will blog if its successful for us.

Looks like we will be going to Florida the week of Easter. Plan to leave the 1st of April and be gone all the next week. Hoping to be able to locate some kind of house to put on the property there. Thinking of a double wide mobile home, found some used ones located nearby, hopefully they will be in good enough shape, and what we want. If not then we will have to keep looking. So will keep our fingers crossed and see what happens.

Painting

I started the bedroom painting a few days ago, thought about it for a long time before I started. Decided on lavender, two tone. Finished today, waiting for the drying time, I know I will have to touch up, as the walls are knockdown plaster. I am pleased with the color, and am planning to get new bedding to match and a border for the top of the walls. It will be a few more days until I am finished. Planning a trip soon to Florida will be happy with an update on that.
